Police Investigate Fatal Car Crash in Kensington
A 62-year-old Rockville woman was killed in a car crash that occurred Friday night in Kensington, according to Montgomery County police.
Police said it happened shortly after 6 p.m. on June 9 at the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and Franklin Street.
According to police, the preliminary investigation indicates that a 2014 Toyota Camry was traveling north on Connecticut Avenue at Franklin Street and a 2014 Ford C-Max was traveling south on Connecticut Avenue and attempted to make a left turn onto eastbound Franklin Street. According to police, that’s when the two vehicles collided at the intersection.
Police have identified the driver of the Ford as Sharon Hormby. Police said Hormby died from her injuries at the hospital. Police said the 21-year-old driver of the Toyota was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
