Police Department Joins Nextdoor to Improve Communication with Residents

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has joined Nextdoor in hopes of improving communication with residents. Nextdoor is a private social network for local neighborhoods and it’s free.

According to police, Nextdoor is another tool for police officers to use to reach residents. You can also find the police department on Facebook and Twitter.

According to a news release from the police department, district commanders and other police personnel will post crime alerts, safety information, and community events to Nextdoor. Residents can reply to the posts, forward information, and send private messages to police.

For more information about the MCPD, visit its website, here.
