Police Charge Brothers in Gaithersburg Hotel Room Home Invasion

Sean and Robert Wilson | MCPD

Two Gaithersburg brothers have been charged in connection with home invasion robbery and assault charges after two people were assaulted inside a Gaithersburg hotel room, a Montgomery County police statement said.

Sean M. Wilson, 31, was released from custody after posting a $5,000 bond, police said. Robert A. Wilson, 33, is being held without bail, police said. Both live on the 300 block of Bryan Avenue.

Investigators believe that the Wilson brothers had a prior association with the victims.

About 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Montgomery Village police district officers responded to the Extended Stay America hotel, at 201 Professional Drive, for the report of a stabbing that had just occurred, police said.

Responding officers found the man and woman in a hotel room suffering from nonlife-threatening injuries that police said were caused by a baseball bat and a knife.

The victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Officers also found Sean and Robert Wilson in a separate hotel room suffering from nonlife-threatening injuries that they suffered in the assault, police said.

Sean and Robert Wilson were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Police said Sean and Robert Wilson entered the victims’ hotel room and tried to rob them. The Wilsons assaulted the male with the baseball bat and with the knife and assaulted the female with the bat, police said. A hotel employee who heard the assault contacted the police.

Sean and Robert Wilson were arrested after they were released from the hospital and charged with one count each of home invasion robbery, two counts each of first-degree assault, and two counts each of second-degree assault.
