Montgomery County police have released surveillance video of a Sept. 22 armed robbery of a Wheaton gas station in hopes that the public can help identify the culprits, according to a police statement released Tuesday.

Investigators believe that the men also committed a Sept. 1 armed robbery of a food truck that was parked near the gas station.

On Friday, Sept. 22 about 11:34 a.m., Wheaton District officers responded to the Exxon gas station at 12245 Veirs Mill Road for the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.

Major Crimes Division detectives determined that five men arrived at the gas station in a silver Chrysler 300 sedan. One man remained in the driver’s seat of the vehicle as the four other suspects entered the Exxon with their faces concealed and armed with handguns, police said.

The four men confronted an employee who was working behind the counter and demanded money; the employee complied, police said. The five suspects fled in the Chrysler with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

Investigators believe that the men also committed the Sept. 1 armed robbery of a food truck in the parking lot of 12265 Veirs Mill Road, police said. In this robbery, three suspects, who matched the description of the suspects involved in the Sept. 22 armed robbery, obtained an undisclosed amount of cash from the food truck and fled in a silver Chrysler 300, police said.

Anyone with information regarding the men or the armed robberies is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5100.  Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest in this case.
