The woman was rescued from the home and taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition said Pete Piringer, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman. FOX 5 DC reported that the woman was treated for smoke inhalation.
There were no smoke alarms found inside the home. Hoarding conditions made it difficult for the fire and rescue team to navigate through the home according to Piringer. He also said the fire originated in the kitchen but the cause is still under investigation
