More Backpack Journalists on the Way! (Photos)

Over the past few weeks I have had the opportunity to work with some great students from the Chelsea School in Silver Spring. We have been having a great time with MCM’s Backpack Journalism program. The ideas that have come from these students have been absolutely phenomenal. Their minds have been working since our first meeting back in February!  They came to visit MCM twice over the past month and I was able to check in with them last week at the Chelsea School. They seemed to be well on their way to finishing their stories right after they get back from Spring Break. We have some aspiring journalists on the way! I can’t wait to see what they have completed. You will have to stay tuned to the Montgomery Channel (21) and Access 19 as well as mymcmedia.org to see their final products.

And speaking of Spring Break, we still have spaces available in our Spring Break Backpack Journalism Program which starts on Monday (3/25). What a great way to get your students (grades 7-12) involved in something great and let their voices be heard right here! This program will teach students how to compose stories, shoot with an HD camera and edit their story on Final Cut Pro. What a great deal for only $300! Check out our Backpack Journalism page for more information and to sign up today!
