Memorial Day Weekend Parties, Festivals and Parades
This is something for everyone this Memorial Day Weekend in Montgomery County.
Ceremonies
Flags for our Heroes will open with a ceremony to honor local heroes in Bohrer Park, next to Gaithersburg High School at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25.
The City of Gaithersburg invites the public to pay tribute to those who have served their country in a Memorial Day Observance in Christman Park at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 30. The city is asking attendees to support homeless veterans with a donation, information is available, here.
Festivals
Taste of Rockville will fill the air along Courthouse Square with enticing smells at noon on Saturday and Sunday before dance troupes, local bands, rock’n’roll, blues, country, reggae and Latin bands start playing in the Hometown Holidays Music Fest.
Museum Events
The National Trolley Museum in Colesville will honor our troops with a Remembering Homefront Street Cars exhibit of WWII streetcars until May 27. Take a special Memorial Day Tour at the Medical Museum in Silver Spring to see the revolutions in military medicine over the past 150 years.
Parades
Rockville will host its 75th annual Rockville Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade at Rockville Town Center on May 27, kicking off at 9 a.m. with a performance by the Rockville Concert Band and Chorus, followed by a ceremony at 9:30 a.m. and a parade at 10:30 a.m.
Parties
On Sunday in Silver Spring The Society Lounge will host a Viewz X Vibez Rooftop Party on Sunday from 3 to 9 p.m., and The Graham Rooftop will host Memorial Day Party at The Graham Rooftop in Georgetown from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
