Maryland Tax-Free Week Starts Sunday: Here’s What Qualifies

Marylander shoppers will save six-percent on many purchases next week. Sunday kicks off Maryland’s Tax Free Week when certain items are exempt from the state sales tax.

Clothing and footwear costing $100 or less, per item, are not subject to Maryland six-percent sales tax, according to a news release.

The first $40 of a backpack or bookbag purchase is also tax-free.

Tax-Free week in Maryland continues through Aug. 14.
