In a recent report by U.S. News & World Report, Maryland is ranked as eighth best state to live in the nation.

The “Best State Ranking” analyzed all 50 states in the following key areas: health care, education, crimes and corrections, opportunity, economy and government.

“I’m proud to point out that Maryland has beat out 42 other states and we’re now ranked number eight in the rankings of best states in the United States of America,” said Governor Larry Hogan. “That should help with the real estate,” he said jokingly as he addressed the highlights of Maryland’s economy at a recent meeting with women in the commercial real estate industry.

In addition to the eighth overall ranking, Maryland ranked fifth in education and fifth in opportunity which measures the average household income and poverty rates.
