Stedwick Third Graders Make Music with International Students in Gaithersburg (VIDEO)

Writing and composing an original opera keeps third graders at Stedwick Elementary on a year long mission of learning. This week the students in Mary Ruth McGinn’s class in Montgomery Village worked on polishing their opera’s theme song. Students visiting from the International School of the Hague (ISH) helped arrange the music. MyMCMedia’s Phyllis Armstrong reports on the harmony created by the collaboration.

ISH’s Timothy Jones and teacher Mary Ruth McGinn planned the joint music session for the 25 third graders and the 41 international students visiting from the Netherlands. The Lightning Strike Kids Opera Company will perform “Falling from Judgment”  on stage at the Kennedy Center May 24 in D.C. Go here for more information about McGinn and her opera curriculum at Stedwick Elementary School.
