José Andrés to Serve Up Ceremonial First Pitch for Game 5

Bethesda’s José Andrés is scheduled to throw out the ceremonial first pitch of Game 5 of the World Series—if the Washington Nationals and the Houston Astros are still playing.

Fox is scheduled to air the game at 8:07 p.m. Sunday. It would take place at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.

Andrés, the celebrity chef, founded World Central Kitchen, which provides food relief to people in need. He tweeted Friday that he is humbled by the opportunity.

“[B]ut I really hope that by Saturday night all of WASHINGTON will be celebrating that the @Nationals are the 2019 @MLB World Series Champions…” Andrés tweeted.

President Donald Trump told reporters Thursday that if Game 5 is still on, he will attend the game at Nationals Park.

Also participating in Game 5 is Maggie Rose, a pop singer from Potomac. Rose will perform a free show at 3:30 p.m. in The Bullpen, which is where Nats fans gather before the game for food and drinks.

I have seen Maggie Rose perform the National Anthem for MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL and multiple big time college football and basketball events. Will be good to see her rocking at the Series! Gotta go see this Emmy Award-winning local prodigy and then the Nat’s taking the Series!!!
