Jawando to Celebrate 100th Storytime at Rockville Memorial Library
Since the start of the pandemic, Councilmember Will Jawando has held 99 virtual storytimes, where he reads children’s books aloud to families. To mark his 100th storytime reading, Jawando will read books aloud to families at 10 a.m. on Saturday outside the Rockville Memorial Library.
This celebration will be Jawando’s first time holding the program “in person” since all county libraries are officially now open. Jawando, who serves as the Lead Councilmember for Montgomery County Libraries, told MyMCM that he plans to continue his storytime events throughout his term. The program has featured high profile guests, authors, and athletes from Ibram X. Kendi to Katie Ledecky.
Jawando wrote on Facebook, “I am happy to announce that next Saturday I will be holding my 100th Storytime, live and in person in front of the Rockville Memorial Library. We will have books, snacks, giveaways and wonderful stories for all of your little ones.”
