Injured Hiker Rescued by Rope System at Sugarloaf Mountain
The Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service aided in a rope rescue for an injured hiker at Sugarloaf Mountain on Sunday.
An adult hiking on the Sugarloaf trails suffered non-life threatening injuries in a fall Sunday morning, according to Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service (MCFRS) Chief Spokesman Pete Piringer.
Dozens of rescue workers responded to the call as the Montgomery County provided “mutual aid” to Frederick County emergency services.
Rescue workers set up a rope, rigging and pulley rescue system to lower the individual down to an accessible area. The patient was transported to a local hospital for their injuries.
Bellow is a video of the rope rescue in progress.
