Gaithersburg Student Selected as Davis United World College Scholar (PHOTO)

Jeffrey Bah.fwGaithersburg High School sophomore, Jeffrey Bah, was selected as a Davis United World College Scholar to represent the United States at one of 15 United World Colleges. Each year, only 50 students are chosen from the U.S. to join the Davis UWC Scholar program. Bah’s merit-based scholarship covers tuition, fees, room and board for the two-year International Baccalaureate (IB) program. The value of Bah’s scholarship is approximately $73,500.

As a Davis UWC Scholar graduate, Bah will be eligible to receive Shelby Davis Scholarship grant funding towards the costs of undergraduate study if he attends one of the 91 participating Davis United World College Scholars partner colleges and universities within the United States.

U.S. citizens and permanent residents interested in the United World Colleges or the Davis United World Colleges Scholars program should go to www.uwc-usa.org. The application for Davis Scholarships (for the 2017-18 school year) will be available in the middle of June, 2016. U.S. citizens and permanent residents may apply only in their sophomore or junior year of high school. You must be either 16 or 17 on September 1 of the year you intend to enroll. The application deadline for entry in fall 2017 will be early November, 2016.
