Five Things to Know Today, Nov. 30, in Montgomery County

Today is Monday, Nov. 30, and here are five things to know in Montgomery County:

1. Council Committee Meetings: Two county council committees meet virtually today. At 9 a.m. the Planning, Housing, and Economic (PHED) committee meets and then at 2:30 p.m. the Education and Culture (E&C) committee receives an update on the General Fund and CARES Act Funding for the public schools and Montgomery College. 2. Municipal Monday: Gaithersburg’s Mayor and Council conduct a virtual work session at 7:30 p.m. on numerous topics including the social impacts of COVID-19 and new programs addressing emerging needs. Here’s the agenda.

3. Virtual Town Hall: The County Council hosts a virtual town hall at 7 p.m. to answer questions and listen to concerns from residents. Joining the council are Board of Education President Shebra Evans to discuss education issues and Health Officer Dr. Travis Gayles to provide a public health update.
