1. Bike to Work Day: It’s Bike to Work Day and there are pit stops across the county, including in Bethesda, Gaithersburg, North Bethesda, Rockville and Silver Spring.
2. Community Coffee: Takoma Park Mayor Kate Stewart is holding a community coffee from 8 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. at Los Pollos restaurant at 6842 New Hampshire Avenue.
3. Gaithersburg Book Festival: The white tents are going up for the Gaithersburg Book Festival at the grounds of City Hall. The festival is scheduled for 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Saturday.
4. Street Beat: Commuters should note that the Department of Transportation is closing two northbound lanes of Rockville Pike (MD 355) between Woodmont Avenue and Center Drive for construction this weekend.
