Here are five things to know today, March 28, in Montgomery County:

1. The Montgomery County Police Department is investigating a fatal, officer-involved shooting that occurred last night in Montgomery Village.

2. The Montgomery County Council meets today and on the agenda is a proclamation recognizing Equal Pay Day and a special appropriation for Council Office Building security.

3. WorkSource Montgomery officials are expected to announce details about the Summer R.I.S.E Program today at the administrative offices of Kaiser Permanente Mid-Atlantic States Regional in Rockville.

4. Dine at the Chipotle’s in the Fallsgrove Village Center in Rockville and help the city of Gaithersburg raise funds for its Character Counts! Scholarship Program.

5. The Kentlands Community Foundation is hosting a Kentlands Square Town Hall meeting from 7 – 9 p.m. at the Kentlands Mansion to discuss a development plan by Saul Centers.

  • Like to bike? Take a spin on Montgomery Parks’ Pop Up Track at North Four Corners Local Park in Silver Spring from 3- 5 p.m.
