Five Things to Know for Nov. 15 in Montgomery County

Warmer today and partly cloudy. Check out the weather forecast. Here are five things to know in Montgomery County for Friday, Nov. 15.

1. Be Safe, Be Seen:  The “Be Safe, Be Seen” campaign makes two stops today. First, representatives will distribute brochures with safety information and reflective materials at the Lake Forest Transit Center in Gaithersburg from 7 to 9 a.m. Then in the afternoon representatives will be at Wheaton High School from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

2. Voting Closes Today:  Cast your vote for the 2020 Maryland voting poll stickers. Students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade submitted artwork to be used on the “I Voted” stickers. Cast your vote, here.

3. Bridge dedication: Officials and community members come together today at 11 a.m. to dedicate the new Park Valley Road Bridge over Sligo Creek in Silver Spring.

4. ‘Gift Outside the Box’: County Executive Marc Elrich will be at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Rockville at noon to announce a public awareness campaign to encourage residents to make sustainable choices to reduce waste, support local businesses and encourage volunteerism during the holiday season.

5. Potomac Rapist Arrested: A man believed to be the “Potomac River Rapist” was arrested in South Carolina Wednesday.
