Five Things to Know for Nov. 13 in Montgomery County
It’s Tuesday, Nov. 13, and here are five things Montgomery County residents need to know:
1. School’s Out: Montgomery County Public Schools students get an early release day. For more information, visit the MCPS website.
2. Council in Session: The Montgomery County Council meets starting at 9:30 a.m. The agenda includes a briefing on pedestrian safety on state highways.
3. Board in Session: The Montgomery County Board of Education meets at 2 p.m. Among the agenda items are approval of pilot programs, including classes for flight, fire and rescue, hip hop history and culture and neuroscience. You can find the complete school board website, here.
4. Interfaith Forum on Hunger: The forum will share resources and opportunities for county faith communities to take action in bringing sufficient, nutritious food to the 60,000 plus Montgomery County residents at risk for hunger. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Interfaith Clothing Center, 751 Twinbrook Parkway, Rockville.
5. Turkey Giveaway: Mercy Seat Chapel is hosting a turkey giveaway from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The chapel is at 17604 Washington Grove Ln, Gaithersburg. For more information, visit www.mercyseatchapel.org or call 301-740-8118 on Tuesday or Thursday between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
