Five Things to Know for May 16 in Montgomery County

Today is Thursday, May 16. Here are five things to know in Montgomery County.

1. Early Childhood Coordinating Council: The Early Childhood Coordinating Council meets today from 9 a.m. to noon. For more information click here.

3. Child Safety Seat Inspections: Officers that have been trained in the proper use and installation of child safety seats will be working with employees of Fitzgerald Auto, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue, and other volunteers to provide instruction and help to parents and care givers about the proper use of child safety seats.  This event will be held at Fitzgerald Auto Mall located at 5501 Nicholson Lane in Rockville from 10 a.m. to noon. 4. Grand Opening: Elder Pine Brewery: Join the Brewers Association of Maryland in welcoming Montgomery County’s newest farm brewery.  Farm breweries are an expression of agriculture, farm-based manufacturing, and tourism. This event will be held at 4200 Sundown Road in Gaithersburg from 3 – 4 p.m.

5. Bone Builders Class For Seniors Ages 55+: Bone Builders is an enjoyable, evidence-based bone building and fall prevention program sponsored by Montgomery County’s Department of Health and Human Services; the Recreation Department; and the Volunteer Center. This will be held at Olney Library from 10:00 am to 12:30 p.m., please click here for more information.

And one more thing: Bike to Work Day is tomorrow, Friday, May 17 from 6:30 – 9 a.m. MCDOT, Commuter Connections, and WABA invite you to celebrate bicycling as a clean, fun, and healthy way to get to work. Click here for more information.
