Here are five things to know in Montgomery County for March 9.

1. Coronavirus Updates:  Governor Hogan announced Sunday that two more Maryland residents tested positive for coronavirus; both residents contracted the virus while traveling overseas. County schools announce they are open today despite misinformation on social media. Gov. Hogan and NIH NIAID Director Dr. Fauci both appeared on NBC’s Meet the Press Sunday to speak with moderator Chuck Todd about the coronavirus outbreak. A person from New Jersey who now tests positive for coronavirus attended the CPAC conference in National Harbor. Follow all our coronavirus news, here. Governor Hogan plans to hold a press conference today at 3:30 p.m. to provide updates on the coronavirus in the State of Maryland.

3. Metrobus Route Cuts Public Comments:  Today is the last day to share your thoughts on Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority’s proposed FY21 budget, which includes cuts to four Metrobus routes affecting more than 65,000 county residents. Visit http://WMATA.com/budget  to register your opinion.

4. Transportation Public Forum: The Montgomery County Council’s Transportation and Environment Committee will host a public forum on Monday, March 9 at 7 p.m. to get feedback from residents on the county’s transportation priorities. The public forum will take place at the Council Office Building (100 Md. Ave.) in Rockville. The public forum will be televised live by County Cable Montgomery (CCM).

5. Community Conversations Tour: Councilmember Will Jawando continues his tour of Montgomery County libraries at the Marilyn J. Praisner Library in Burtonsville tonight at 7 p.m.
