Five Things to Know for March 30 in Montgomery County

Today is Monday, March 30 and here are five things to know in Montgomery County:

1. First Day of Remote School: Montgomery County Public Schools launches the first phase of remote learning today.

2. Online Theatre Classes:  Olney Theatre Center is offering six weeks of free Zoom classes starting today. There will be classes every weekday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. for all age groups. Classes are free and no registration is required. Descriptions of the classes may be found here. Each day starts with storytime for young children from 9 to 10 a.m.

3. Small Business Disaster Loan Webinar:  Maryland Women’s Business Center is offering a free informational webinar to learn about the U.S. Small Business Administration COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loan application from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. today. 4. Drop-Off Sites for medical and cleaning supplies:  Disaster relief agencies, in partnership with Maryland Emergency Management Agency, have established four sites, including one in Silver Spring, to drop off donations. They are looking for the following items: unused N95 masks with or without valve; protective goggles in original packaging; unused nitrile gloves in original packaging; unused hospital gowns in original packaging; Tyvek coats and bodysuits; bleach, Lysol, cleaning supplies (must be unopened and unused); face shields; and hand sanitizer.  The donation site in Silver Spring is located at 15930 Good Hope Road and will be open Monday through Friday from 8 – 10 a.m. and 6 – 8 p.m.
