1. Education Budget Meeting: Montgomery County Council Education Committee Chair Craig Rice, Montgomery County Public Schools Superintendent Jack Smith, and Montgomery College President DeRionne Pollard are bringing their education budget meeting to Montgomery College Takoma Park Campus tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The meeting, which will be in the Cultural Arts Center Theater, will offer information about the programs and budgets for the county’s public school system and community college.
2. Book Signing: Chef Carla Hall is signing her new cookbook “Carla Hall’s Soul Food: Everyday and Celebration” at Tabletop Takoma tonight from 5 to 7 p.m.
3. Prevailing Wage and Worker Classification: Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing & Regulation is offering a free workshop today from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. about “how prevailing wage rates are determined in Maryland.” The workshop will be at Montgomery College’s Center for Training Excellence in Rockville. 4. Coffee with a Cop: Montgomery County Police is continuing their Coffee with a Cop series today at Starbucks in the Clarksburg Outlets from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

5. Food Drive: Cadia Healthcare of Wheaton is partnering with the Capital Area Food Bank for a monthlong food drive. They are accepting the following items: “canned tuna, salmon, chicken, beans, corn, stew, sauces; brown rice and [pasta], 100% juices, peanut butter, and flour.” These items can be dropped off to Cadia Healthcare of Wheaton at 4011 Randolph Road until April 19.
