Five Things to Know for March 25 in Montgomery County

Today is Monday, March 25. Cool week, some rain, but warm this weekend. Here’s the forecast.

1. Meet the Media: Montgomery County Council President Nancy Navarro meets members of the media at 11:30 a.m. in the Council Office Building. She expects to discuss the fiscal 2020 budget, the racial equity and social justice policy, the Managed Lanes Study for I-495 and I-270, transparency in the selection of the next police chief and the county’s Public Election Fund and a forum on the fund scheduled for March 26.

2. Council Action: The Public Safety Committee meets at 9:30 a.m. in the Seventh Floor Hearing Room to discuss the Law Enforcement Trust and Transparency Act, which requires independent investigations after officer-involved shootings. The council’s planning committee meets at 10 a.m. in the Third Floor Hearing Room to review its MARC Rail Communities Sector Plan, which examines the land uses, zoning, design and multimodal access to the two MARC stations located in Boyds and Germantown. 3. Gaithersburg Mayor and Council: The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall, 31 S. Summit Ave. You can find the agenda here.

4. Spring Concert: The Capriccio String Quartet performs at the Rockville Library.
