1. Planning Board Meets: The Planning Board agenda items include a preliminary plan for the redevelopment of the Westwood Shopping Center, among many other items. Watch the meeting live, here.
2. Student Protests: Students from the region are planning to walkout of school and march from the White House to the Capitol in protest of the Federal Government’s lack of action on gun violence. MyMCMedia’s Jordan Lindsay spoke with one of the students about their motivation in this short video:
3. Virtual Town Hall Meeting: County Executive Marc Elrich will answer questions submitted online today from 1 – 2 p.m.
4. Art Exhibit Opening Reception: Takoma Park’s new art exhibit, Women of the World celebrates Women’s History Month with the works by five local artists. Meet the artists and learn about their work during the opening reception today at 7 p.m.
5. Maryland State Basketball Semifinals: Montgomery County has two teams in the state semifinal playoffs tonight. The Bethesda-Chevy Chase HS girls play Old Mill HS from Millersville at the SECU Arena at Towson University at 5 p.m. The Richard Montgomery HS boys play Broadneck HS from Annapolis at the Xfinity Center at College Park at 9 p.m. Go Barons! Go Rockets!
And one more thing: Staff from the Department of Environmental Protection will be at Brookeville Beer Farm today from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Residents can swap out old incandescent or CFL light bulbs for up to three free LED light bulbs.
