Five Things to Know for June 24 in Montgomery County

Today is Monday, June 24. Thunderstorms early in the week. Here’s the forecast.

1. Municipal Monday: The Rockville Mayor and Council meets at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 111 Maryland Ave.

2. School Board: The Montgomery County Board of Education meets at the Carver Educational Services Center, 850 Hungerford Drive, Rockville. The meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m., with public agenda items beginning at 5 p.m.

3. Hole in One: The Montgomery Housing Partnership is hosting a golf tournament that will include young student residents taking part in a golf clinic. The event is at the Hampshire Greens Golf Course, 616 Firestone Drive, in Ashton, starting at noon.

4. Navarro and the Media: Montgomery County Council President Nancy Navarro meets the media starting at 10 a.m. Likely issues: proposed zoning changes for accessory dwelling units, the appointment process for the Montgomery County Planning Board, immigration resources and the county’s ongoing efforts to create a racial equity and social justice policy.
