It’s Monday, July 6, and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.
1. Council Committee Meetings: Two committees meet virtually today and may be viewed live on YouTube or Facebook. The Planning, Housing, and Economic Development Committee meets at 9 a.m. The Transportation and Environment Committee meets at 2:30 p.m.
2. County Pools Reopen: As part of Phase 2 reopening, the seven outdoor pools and three indoor swim centers reopen today. Also, Montgomery County Recreation is holding classes virtually this summer and many classes start this week.
3. Municipal Monday: Gaithersburg’s Mayor and Council meet at 7:30 p.m. Here’s the agenda and virtual meeting information may be found here. Poolesville’s Town Commissioners meet at 7 p.m. Here’s the agenda. The Rockville Mayor and Council meet in closed session at 6 p.m. The agenda may be found here.
4. Food Distribution: Free prepared meals will be distributed today at Governor Square Apartments in Gaithersburg from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. The meals are provided by Real Food for Kids and Silver Diner.
5. Book Holds and Pickups Reopen: Montgomery County Public Libraries begins contact-free holds pickup service today.
