Five Things to Know for July 4 in Montgomery County

It’s Independence Day! Below are some places where you and your family can celebrate:

1. Takoma Park: Join Takoma Park for their 129th Independence Day Celebration, which will feature raffle prizes, a parade, live music, and fireworks. Event kicks off at 9:45 a.m.

2. Germantown: Hear live music and watch fireworks in South Germantown Regional Park. Food vendors and parking will be provided on-site.
Festivities begin at 7 p.m.

3. Kensington: There are two events happening in Kensington.  First, there’s a community-wide cycle to celebrate independence at 9:45 a.m. The town of Kensington welcomes kids and “all those young at heart” to ride decorated bikes, scooters, wagons or strollers

Following the bike ride, residents can enjoy live music and fireworks at Albert Einstein High School starting at 7:30 p.m. There will be food vendors on site.

4. Chevy Chase: Join the Town of Chevy Chase for a morning of picnicking and parading at the Jane Lawton Center Grounds at 11:45 a.m.

5. Rockville: Celebrate the fourth Fourth celebration at Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park in King Farm! The event kicks off at 7 p.m.
