Five Things to Know for July 10 in Montgomery County

We’ve reached this week’s halfway point! It’s Wednesday, July 10, and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.

1. Community Conversation on Racial Equity, Social Justice: Tonight at 7 p.m., Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich is teaming up with Council President Nancy Navarro to host another Community Conversation on Racial Equity and Social Justice. The event will be held at the White Oak Community Recreation Center in Silver Spring.

2. Reptiles Visit LibraryThe Friends of the Library’s Germantown Chapter is sponsoring a “Reptiles Alive” animal show today at the Germantown Library. At 2 p.m., children of all ages and families can come to see the educational animal show and learn about biological and environmental topics. Free tickets are available an hour before the show starts.

3. Strathmore’s Summer Concerts BeginsStrathmore’s outdoor summer concerts series, Live from the Lawn, kicks of today at 5301 Tuckerman Lane in North Bethesda. Tonight the group Front Country is performing.

4. Chautauqua 2019: Maryland Humanities’ 25 season for Chautauqua living history continues tonight. People will learn about Matthew Henson, a polar explorer, craftsman, and author. The event is in Globe Hall in the High Technology Building at Montgomery College in Germantown at 7 p.m. Here’s more information.

5. Presentation of Recommendations for Rockville Town Center: A panel of Urban Land Institute is offering a presentation of recommendations to improve the vibrancy of Rockville Town Center today from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. This presentation is open to the public and will be located in the Buchanan Room at VisArts. Anyone who cannot attend can watch the recommendations live on the City of Rockville’s Facebook page. Here’s more information.
