Here are five things to know Monday, Jan. 28, in Montgomery County.

1. Back to Work: Federal leaders passed a continuing resolution to fund the government through February 15.

2. No School for Students:  Students do not report to school today because the public school teachers have a professional day.

3. Council Committees Meet: The Public Safety and the Planning, Housing and Economic Development committees meet today. The meetings are open to the public.

4. Meeting the Media: Montgomery County Council President Nancy Navarro will meet with members of the media at 11 a.m. Among the issues on his agenda will be the county’s racial equity initiative and the anticipated vote on the County’s savings plan.

5. Municipal Monday:  Rockville town leaders meet at 7 p.m.  Here’s the agenda.
