Five Things to Know for Jan. 24 in Montgomery County

Cloudy and a bit warmer temps with highs in the 50s. Here are five things to know in Montgomery County for Jan 24.

1. Wheaton Senior Center:  County officials will open the Wheaton Senior Center today. The center is located in the Wheaton Community Recreation Center.

2. MCPS Early Release: Montgomery County Public Schools close early today, just in time for the weekend!

3. Candidate Filing Deadline:  Montgomery County voters will go to the polls on Tuesday, April 28 for the 2020 Presidential Primary Election. The deadline for candidates to file for this election is 9 p.m. today.

4. HBCU College Fair: The 12th annual Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) College Fair takes place today at The Universities at Shady Grove. The fair is open to all county students in Grades 8-12 and their families but registration is required.

5. Intercounty Connector Weekend Closure:  The westbound lanes of the ICC will be detoured at New Hampshire Avenue from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
