1. Tax-Free Week: Comptroller Peter Franchot will be at Nolan’s Apache Appliance in Aspen Hill at 11:15 a.m. to highlight Shop Maryland Energy weekend, when shoppers can get a break on the state’s 6 percent sales tax on qualifying Energy Star products.

2. Montgomery Talks podcast: Health care advocate Vincent DeMarco talks to Doug Tallman about new efforts to introduce a bill in Maryland’s General Assembly capping the cost of certain medications in the State.

3. Chinese New Year: Events are being held throughout Montgomery County to celebrate the Lunar New Year or the Spring Festival.

4. World Central Kitchen Dinner:  Government workers and contractors who were hurt by the federal government shutdown are invited to Blair High School at 6:30 p.m. to enjoy a meal, music, and community. The dinner is hosted by the Fire and Rescue service and Councilmember Tom Hucker.
