1. Green Matters Symposium: The 2019 annual symposium sponsored by Brookside Gardens provides information on creating diverse landscapes.

2. HBCU College Fair: The 11th annual Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) College Fair takes place today at The Universities at Shady Grove. The fair is open to all county students in Grades 8-12 and their families but registration is required.

3. Black History Month Author Talk: Author James Johnston will discuss the perspectives on slavery that are presented in his two books, The Recollections of Margaret Loughborough and From Slave Ship to Harvard at the Rockville Library Saturday, Feb. 23 from 2 to 3 p.m.
