Five Things to Know for Feb. 11 in Montgomery County

1. Troubled Properties: The Montgomery County Council’s Planning, Housing and Economic Development Committee meets to discuss an executive regulation that forth a methodology for designating troubled properties under county law, based on the severity and quantity of violations. You can read the staff report here. The committee meets at 9:30 a.m. in the Seventh floor hearing room in the Council Office Building.

2. Thinking About High School: Montgomery County Public Schools hosts a meeting to discuss what high school programs MCPS should offer. The meetings starts at 6:30 p.m. at Clarksburg High School, 22500 Wims Road.

3. Balancing the Budget: The county’s Office of Management and Budget hosts a forum using an online tool to decide how much the county should collect and where it should spend the money. The forum starts at 7 p.m. at Montgomery County Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe St, Rockville, MD 20850, USA

4. Municipal Monday: Gaithersburg’s Mayor and Council holds a worksession on health outcomes for the city. The event starts at 7:30 p.m. in the council chambers, 31 S. Summit Ave.

5. Recreation: Spring registration starts today.

One last thing … Rep. David Trone is opening a new office at 1 p.m. at One Washingtonian Center, 9801 Washingtonian Blvd. Suite 330, Gaithersburg.
