Happy February! Here are five things to know Friday, Feb. 1, in Montgomery County.

1. National Wear Red Day: February is American Heart Month and everyone is encouraged to wear red to raise awareness about heart disease.

2. Council Business: The Montgomery County Council is on retreat Friday morning and then has a lunch meeting with U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen.
