Five Things to Know for Dec. 21 in Montgomery County

It’s Friday, Dec. 21, and here are five things you need to know:

1. MCM Closed For Holidays: Today the MCM offices and facilities close at noon. We will re-open for regular hours on Jan. 2.

2. Winter Solstice Campfire: Tonight is the longest night of winter! Come celebrate at the Meadowside Nature Center from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Families with children 3 and up can enjoy a campfire and s’mores. There is a $6 registration fee. More information can be found here.

3. Marketing Workshop: Before the holidays, set a goal for that small business idea you’ve been thinking of and sign up for a Marketing Plan Workshop for Small Businesses hosted by the Maryland Women Business Center in Rockville. The workshop costs $25 and runs from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Registration information can be found here.

4. Get Creative with Your Gifts: The Olney Winery is providing a creative opportunity for a last minute gift: a wine glass candle holder. From 6:30 to 9 p.m. you can paint a wine glass, with some guidance from a local artist. Details and tickets can be purchased here.

5. Lego Exhibit: Today is the grand opening of the Lego Exhibit at Bedlands Playspace in Rockville. Purchase tickets and check out the exhibit between 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. More info can be found here.
