So, there’s one way to get excited that Christmas is only a week away. Here are five things to know in Montgomery County for Wednesday, Dec. 18.
1. Noah Leotta Blood Drive: Montgomery County Police Department is hosting its annual blood drive in honor of Officer Leotta from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Montgomery County Public Safety Headquarters in Gaithersburg.
2. GLOW Zumba Solstice Party: From 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. there is a GLOW Zumba Solstice Party at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park in Gaithersburg. Here is more information.
3. Drag Queen Story Hour: Loyalty Bookstore in Silver Spring is teaming up with Wheaton Area Moms to host its first free Drag Queen Story Hour. Drag Queens will read stories to children and discuss gender diversity. Here is more information.
4. New Leadership Begins at County’s Economic Development Corp.: Benjamin H. Wu starts taking over as the new leader of taking over Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation, the county’s nonprofit corporation in charge of attracting and retaining new businesses.
5. Garden of Lights: Go check out the Garden of Lights at Brookside Gardens in Wheaton Regional Park. The lights are on display from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
