1. Elrich Listening Session: Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich is hosting a listening session from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Poolesville High School. Watch the session live, here.
2. Toy Drive: The Burtonsville Volunteer Fire Department is hosting an auxiliary toy drive between now and Dec. 16. The toys will be distributed to families supported by the Family Justice Center (Montgomery County’s domestic violence center) during the holidays. For more information call 240-773-8969.

3. Council is in session: Montgomery County Council is in session today starting at 9:30 a.m. Check out the council’s agenda here.
4. Learn to start a business: Attend a free workshop that explains the nuts and bots of starting a business. The workshop, which is hosted by the Maryland Small Business Development Center, will feature business consultant speakers who will share information about what aspiring small business owners should anticipate when starting a business. They will review business plans, financing options, marketing strategies, and more from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at the Rockville Library. Register and learn more about the workshop here.
5. Get Paid to Talk Workshop: The City of Rockville is hosting a Getting Paid to Talk Workshop today from 6:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Rockville Senior Center on Carnation Drive. This workshop explores voice-over work for television, film, radio, books on tape, documentaries, and the Internet. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to record a commercial script under the direction of a producer. Registration to the event is required.
