Five Things to Know for Aug. 28 in Montgomery County

Today is Wednesday, Aug. 28. There are six more days of summer vacation until public school students return to school. In the meantime, here are five things to know in Montgomery County.

1. Live from the Lawn: Tonight its the final Live from the Lawn concert for Strathmore’s outdoor summer concert series. Pianist and soul singer Aaron Abernathy is performing tonight at 7 p.m. The free concert is located at 5301 Tuckerman Lane in North Bethesda and guests are welcome to bring blankets and low beach chairs.

2. Rockville Movies in the Parks Series: Tonight at 8 p.m., families can attend the last free outdoor summer movie in Rockville. Bring chairs, blankets, and snacks to watch “Sherlock Gnomes” at Potomac Woods Park at 1380 Stratton Drive.

3. Silver Spring Stage Auditions: The Silver Spring Stage is holding auditions for the Pulitzer Prize-winning drama “Sweat” by Lynn Nottage. The auditions are from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at 10145 Colesville Road in Silver Spring. Here’s more information.

4. Best of Bethesda: Bethesda Magazine has opened its Best of Bethesda Readers’ Poll. Submissions are due by Sept. 13. Here’s more information.

5. What it Takes to be Googlicious: The Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce is hosting a workshop on Google Analytics at the GGCC Office in Gaithersburg, located at 910 Clopper Road, Suite 205 North Building. The workshop is free from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and people can register here.

And one more thing:  Award-winning Danish klezmer ensemble Mames Babegenush performs at AMP by Strathmore tonight at 8 p.m.
