1. Back-to-School for Montgomery College: Montgomery College President Dr. DeRionne Pollard welcomes faculty, staff, and students on the first day of the academic year. The meeting is streamed live, here. Students begin classes Tuesday, September 3.

2. Sligo Creek Parkway Closures: Montgomery Parks is closing down Sligo Creek Parkway from East Wayne Avenue to Piney Branch Road today to remove trees from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

3. Live Discussion with County Executive Marc Elrich: This online forum from noon to 1 p.m. allows county residents to send questions, or comments, directly to the County Executive. Questions will be answered during the one-hour discussion time.

4. Dance Performance:  Sutradhar Institute of Dance presents “Why the Trees Dance” at Brookside Gardens at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are available, here.

5. Monday Night at the Movies: Aspen Hill library screens A Wrinkle in Time for elementary school-age youth at 6 p.m. The film is rated PG and is appropriate for children who can sit and watch a movie for 1 hour and 50 minutes.
