1. Yappy Hour: Montgomery Parks hosts a “yappy hour” from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Olney Manor Dog Park, 16601 Georgia Ave.
2. Why I Majored in Biology: Louise Chatlynne will tell us what made her major in biology and share some compelling stories about her career. We will learn about viruses that make us sick and about ones that evolved to infect humans without making us ill. She’s part of the Rockville Science Tuesdays lecture series, which meets on the second Tuesday of the month at the Rockville Senior Center. The program is free and open to everyone.
3. Fall Recreation Opens: Registration for fall rec programs opens today.

4. Fair Continues: The Montgomery County Agricultural Fair continues in Gaithersburg. It’s Senior Citizens Day, which means free admission for anyone 62 and older until 5 p.m., and truck drag racing is scheduled.
