Five Things to Know for April 22 in Montgomery County

It is Wednesday, April 22, and it is Earth Day. It’s a great day to go outside and get fresh air, while following social distancing guidelines. Here are five things to know in Montgomery County.

1. Earth Day Livestream: The Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection is having an all-day livestream from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. to celebrate Earth Day. The event features 20 presenters.

2. Virtual Town Hall for Faith Communities: A virtual town hall featuring County Executive Marc Elrich is from 3:15-4:15 p.m. Topics like grants for faith communities and caring for those who are food insecure will be covered.

3. Consumer Scams Coming to You!: The Montgomery County Office of Consumer Protection will hold a presentation on Zoom from 6:30-7:45 p.m. about common scams that have been altered to fit COVID-19 and Census-related issues.

4. Senior Planet Montgomery Classes: Senior Planet Montgomery continues to offer virtual classes for senior citizens. Today’s classes include learning how to use smart devices and a fit fusion workout.

5. #StrongerChallenge: Montgomery County Recreation challenges you to the #StrongerChallenge.
