Five Things to Know for April 2 in Montgomery County

It’s Thursday, April 2 and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.

1.Virtual Community Briefing: Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich will host a virtual community briefing from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. He will be joined by MCPS Superintendent Dr. Jack Smith, County Health Officer Dr. Travis Gayles and Director of Emergency Management Dr. Earl Stoddard. They will share the latest updates on COVID-19. The virtual community briefing will be streamed live on the County’s website and Facebook page. The event will also be simulcast on County Cable Montgomery (CCM).

2. Free Grab-and-Go Meals: Silver Diner in Rio will be providing free grab-and-go meals for Montgomery County children and families in need from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Click here for more details.

3. Virtual Library Events: Montgomery County Public Libraries has several virtual events available for you to enjoy while practicing social distancing. Click here for more details.

4. Montgomery Parks Update: Although parks and trails are open from sunrise to sunset, officials with Montgomery Parks says there are COVID-19 guidelines to follow. Click here for more details.
