Five Things to Know for April 18 in Montgomery County

Today is Thursday, April 18. Here are five things to know in Montgomery County

1.  Child Safety Seat Inspections: Officers that have been trained in the proper use and installation of child safety seats will be working with employees of Fitzgerald Auto, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue, and other volunteers. Parents and care givers can learn about the proper use of child safety seats. This event will take place at Fitzgerald Auto Mall in Rockville from 10:00 am to Noon- is open and free to all without the need to schedule an appointment. For more information, click here.

 

2.  Free Naloxone (Narcan) Training: TheDepartment of Health and Human Services will offer this free Narcan training at 11002 Veirs Mill Road [Suite 705] in Silver Spring from 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm. Although training is free, registration is required. For more information e-mail OverdoseResponseProgram@montgomerycountymd.gov or call 240-777-1836.

 

3.  4Business Listening Session – Bethesda: County Executive Marc Elrich and Council Vice President Sidney Katz are teaming up on a joint initiative called 4Business: Benchmarking to Be the Best for Business.  Listening sessions have been scheduled across the County to receive input from businesses about what they need to succeed, and to engage them to share their experiences in locating and growing their businesses in Montgomery County.People are invited to attend a public hearing about this at the Bethesda Chevy Chase Regional Services Center [4805 Edgemoor Lane] from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Anyone who wants to send comments about this initiative can email 4Business@montgomerycountymd.gov.

4. Silver Spring Art Walk – April Murals: The Montgomery Planning Department, Silver Spring Arts and Entertainment District, as well as  and Silver Spring Urban District invite you to an art walk in Silver Spring from 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm. The event will feature painted murals in Silver Spring. The evening will include FREE Apps at TTT-Tacos, Tortas, & Tequila [8407 Ramsey Ave] in Silver Spring, Md. Details about a mural created by New York graffiti artist and Mexican native Marka27 will be discussed.
