Circuit Court Prepares to Resume Jury Trials for First Time Since March

On Monday, Oct. 5 Maryland courts will enter Phase 5 of reopening.

This means all courts will be fully operational and for circuit courts, it means jury trials are back on for the first time since March. The Montgomery County Circuit Court has many COVID-19 precautions in place like plexiglass and physical distancing. Some jurors will sit outside of the jury box in criminal trials, which require 12 jurors.

MyMCMedia spoke with Judge Robert Greenberg at the Montgomery County Circuit Court about how the courthouse is preparing for Phase 5.
