Five Things to Know for Nov. 25 in Montgomery County

Partly cloudy today. And not much rain expected for the rest of the week.. Here are five things to know in Montgomery County for Nov. 25.

1. Youth Council: Takoma Park’s Youth Council meets at 6:30 p.m. in the Hydrangea Room, Takoma Park Community Center, 7500 Maple Ave.

2. What to Do About the Electoral College: Elaine Apter, vice president of the League of Women Voters of Maryland, leads a discussion of the Electoral College. The talk begins at 6:45 p.m. at the Wheaton Library, 11701 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring.

3. Meet with the Media: Montgomery County Council President Nancy Navarro meets with members of the press at 11 a.m. It will be Navarro’s last news conference as president of the council, which is expected to elect Vice President Sidney Katz as the new president the following week.

4. Council Action: The Health and Human Services Committee considers regulations on electronic cigarettes starting at 9:30 a.m. in the Seventh Floor Hearing Room. The council planning committee meets at 9:30 a.m. at the Third Floor Hearing Room. The health and education committees have a joint meeting at 1:30 p.m. in the Seventh Floor Hearing Room.

5. ICYMI: At a contentious hearing on new regulations for 5G towers, a representative from County Executive Marc Elrich urged the County Council to hold off before approving new measures.
