Five Things to Know for Oct. 18 in Montgomery County

Mostly sunny today. Check out the weather forecast. Here are five things to know in Montgomery County for Oct. 11.

1. Opioid Intervention: Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich and members of the County Council are scheduled to unveil an interactive art exhibit highlighting addiction. The event occurs at 11 a.m. at the Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe St., Rockville.

2. Pedal Peddling: The county Department of Transportation is holding its annual drive to get unused bicycles and parts to people in need. The collections runs from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. to the area outside the Council Office Building parking garage at East Jefferson and Monroe streets, Rockville.

3. Highlighting USG: The council’s Education and Culture, and the planning committees will tour the Universities at Shady Grove starting at 10 a.m.

4. Irish Flute: Visiting artist Steph Geremia offers a workshop at 6 p.m. and a concert at 8 p.m. at the School of Musical Traditions, 1057 Rockville Pike, Rockville. Workshop + Concert: $35; Concert only $20. Register in advance here.

5. No Pressure: Kensington Library has started a No Pressure Audio Book Club.
