Here are five things to know today, Oct. 30, in Montgomery County:
1. Cell Phone Towers: The Montgomery County Council is expected to vote on telecommunications towers during its council session today.
2. Domestic Violence Awareness: Councilmember Sidney Katz will present a proclamation on behalf of the Montgomery County Council and County Executive Isiah Leggett recognizing October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month during today’s meeting.
3. Candlelight Vigil in Takoma Park: In Takoma Park, city leaders will host a candlelight vigil to stand against violence to mourn the loss of the victims in Pittsburgh and two African-American individuals killed at a Kentucky grocery store. The Takoma Park community will gather at the Gazebo on Carroll and Westmoreland Avenue at 7 p.m.
4. Early Voting Continues: Montgomery County voters have until Nov. 1 to cast their ballots during early voting for the Gubernatorial Election. Hours of operation are from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
