Maryland Commerce Secretary Anticipates Amazon HQ2 Announcement Coming Soon

During his visit to Montgomery Community Media studios, Maryland Commerce Secretary Mike Gill discussed how the number of job opportunities, diversity, and education, makes Montgomery County a great place to live in the state.

“It’s one of those jurisdictions where the schools are so good, that families don’t have to think about, ‘where are we going to come up with $30,000 so that our child can go to Saint Albans?’ ” he stated.

Gill made his comments during Montgomery Community Media’s Small Business Network session Thursday morning, that offers people in the community a chance to gain insight and information from regional business leaders.

When asked about Montgomery County’s proposal to Amazon for its second headquarters, Gill said he anticipates that the company will shorten its list of 20 sites in the next 30 days.
