Police Investigate Fatal Collision on Snouffer School Road

Montgomery County police officers say a Gaithersburg woman was killed in a collision at Snouffer School Road and Centerway Road on Tuesday morning.

According to police, at 11:15 a.m. on Nov. 29, police and firefighters responded to the intersection of Snouffer School Road and Centerway Road for the report of a serious collision that had just occurred.

Police said the preliminary investigation indicates that a 2000 Acura TL was making a left turn from northbound Snouffer School Road onto westbound Centerway Road and a 2000 Dodge Durango was traveling southbound on Snouffer School Road approaching Centerway Road. Police said the Acura and the Durango collided in the intersection.

According to police, the driver of the Acura was not injured in the collision but the front seat passenger was transported to an area hospital where she later died from her injuries. Police have identified her as 71-year-old Sultana Firdous Dasti.

Police said the driver of the Durango was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
